ELIZABETH "LIZ" MOTLEY
Elizabeth "Liz" Motley is a seasoned award-winning creative television executive and TV host with 15+ years experience in broadcasting and cable television and digital content development.
Liz made her first TV appearance on camera at the tender age of five on the popular Florida regional children’s television show, “Romper Room” and has continued her journey in television as an award winning TV reporter and host for local, national and international TV shows and news programs.
As Vice President of TV Programming for America’s Voice Cable TV Network national news/political talk cable network based in Washington D.C. Liz created & developed live, interactive TV programming with such notable talents as Billy Bush, Mary Matalin, Susan Molinari and Colonel Oliver North. She also managed a dynamic innovative creative news team through live wall-to-wall presidential election coverage including live coverage of the Republican and Democratic National Presidential Conventions.
In 2011, she was recruited by Rural Media Group/RFD-TV as Executive News Director/Anchor to create and launch the first ever national television network news geared to rural America. On February 16, 2012 she made history anchoring the RURAL EVENING NEWS and launching RURAL TV. Liz increased the Nielsen ratings timeslot on RFD-TV by 40% with the RURAL EVENING NEWS.
Earlier in her career, Liz developed an award-winning news/public service TV program for Hearst Television called, "Inside Tampa Bay", which she both hosted and produced -- making all the editorial decisions.
Liz has worked as a reporter and producer in Entertainment News for both WTVT (Fox O&O), and at “Later Today”, nationally syndicated news pilot produced at Disney-MGM Studios Orlando interviewing A-list celebrities.
Liz launched a national cable TV start-up venture, America’s Health Network, focusing on health and medical news. She managed 15 hours of live, interactive medical news talk programming per week, as well as handling reporter duties.
Other experience includes producing a weekly NFL sports report with nationally syndicated radio personality Nanci Donnellon (aka ESPN’s Fabulous Sports Babe).
Expanding her sights on international programming, Liz launched E! and style networks at sea for the first time aboard cruise ships globally. She also developed a partnership with CBS television network and Viacom to launch the exclusive, customized TV programming, “CBS Eye on Royal Caribbean” – the first ever such partnership in the cruise travel industry.
In March 2007, Liz launched international TV Travel entertainment company OceansTV, Inc, a joint venture with successful European travel entertainment company IFE Services Ltd. Liz’s TV innovations for the cruise travel industry include launching MTV at sea in 2004, as well as Fox’s “American Idol” finale at sea in 2006.
Liz is an award winning creative TV executive producer, writer and anchor / reporter whose recognition includes (14) Telly Awards, (3) Davey Creative Awards, an Addy Award, MAN Media Award, and the American Heart Association’s Award for Excellence in Cardiovascular Communications.
Plus, Liz also has experience in celebrity public relations, media and marketing, working with many high profile celebrities including TV / Film Actor James Best, probably most widely known for his role as Rosco P. Coltrane in the long running television series “The Dukes of Hazzard”; recording artist / actor / film director Michael Damian; Studio City Sound Recording Studio; Caption Records; Worthy Publishing; and Matthew and Gunnar Nelson, the twin sons of Country Rock co-founder, Rick Nelson, and grandsons of TV icons Ozzie & Harriet Nelson, who carry on their family tradition as multi-platinum recording artists and celebrity headline entertainers in their own right.
Liz initially began her TV career through music at regional music video television station, WTMV in Lakeland, Florida as Public Service Director and part-time VJ, interviewing national recording artists such as John Waite, Neal Schon of JOURNEY, Jon Anderson of YES, and Bret Michaels of POISON. She has maintained a love of music and is a classically trained musician.
Liz is a graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts in Radio, Television and Motion Pictures.
